How does it work?

1. First, we integrate Flipcause fundraising technology with your existing website- it only takes a few minutes! If you don’t have a website, we can build you a modern, responsive website for free or you can easily set up a fully hosted fundraising site on Flipcause.com.

2. Your dedicated Success Manager will contact you to help set up your first campaigns. Once you’re all set up, you can easily edit and add new tools and campaigns from your centralized cloud dashboard. All updates will happen in real time, so you’ll have complete control over your website and fundraising initiatives at all times.

3. Get the word out to your supporters with integrated social sharing.

4. When the donations start rolling in, all supporter activity will be instantly funneled to your CRM database, where you can manage donor profiles, send thank-yous and follow-ups, and gain insights through our robust analytics.

5. Keep it up! Fundraising happens year round, and your Success Team will be there whenever you need them.

Who can use Flipcause?

Flipcause was designed specifically for 501(c)3 nonprofits, schools, and other community organizations. However, if you’re not a nonprofit, but are a socially conscious business, individual, or other organization with a valid Tax ID number, we may be able to help you. How can I spread the word about my fundraiser?

Promoting your fundraiser is simple using our integrated social media sharing tools and email templates. With one click of a button, you can share your fundraising page on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google Plus, and LinkedIn, or share a short-link to your page through email or instant message. Your fundraising page also comes with an associated widget that you can easily embed anywhere on the web (such as your personal website or blog) to direct supporters to your fundraising initiatives.

Does Flipcause gather information from our supporters who donate or shop through your site?

We have utmost respect your supporters' privacy. Flipcause does not capture any data from supporters who shop for your cause, and only the data you choose to request from your donors will be collected. Your supporter information is stored in a secure CRM database for your organization's recordkeeping, and no data is ever transmitted or sold to third parties.

We do not have tech-savvy organizational members. Do you create and handle the development of the products you are offering?

Flipcause was created by designers and developers with years of nonprofit fundraising experience. From the beginning, it has been our goal to create a product that is incredibly easy-to-use, even for those with no technical expertise. That being said, we'd be more than happy to help you set up a great fundraising web page and install our technology on your website. After the initial installation, we don’t leave you in the dark- your Success Team will check in on your progress and help you create new campaigns year-round.

Where is the money we generate held? How fast am I able to withdraw those funds?

The funds that you raise are held in your secure, integrated Merchant Account. Your organization’s authorized point of contact can withdraw the available balance at any time via direct deposit to your organization’s bank account. All fund transfers are completed within 72 hours.

What can I customize on my Flipcause fundraising page?

Whether you choose to set up a fully hosted fundraising website through Flipcause or use the integrated fundraising widget on your own site, you can easily customize your site with your logo and color scheme for consistency with your brand. Our fully-hosted fundraising websites can be further customized with banners, photos, video, and blog posts to truly personalize it for your organization.

Do I need to hit a goal to keep the money I raise?

No. Unlike traditional crowdfunding platforms, you keep all the funds you raise on Flipcause.com or our integrated fundraising widget. If you’d like, you can choose to set a fundraising goal and end date for any type of campaign, but there is no minimum amount you must reach to claim your funds. Flipcause provides your organization a platform to centralize your entire fundraising efforts year after year, rather than just a short-term crowdfunding campaign.

Can I accept recurring donations through Flipcause?

Yes! Recurring donations and subscription management compose the backbone of Flipcause’s fundraising philosophy. By offering your donors the ability to easily give in monthly, quarterly, or annual increments, your organization can ensure sustainable, predictable revenues. All recurring donors are stored in a centralized subscriber management center, where you can easily edit their payment information and contribution type. Flipcause software automatically charges these donors and issues white-labeled, personal receipts. Donors are able to cancel and change their payment information through secure tokenized links without having to contact your organization, making the management of your recurring donations incredibly simple.

Can I recruit volunteers through Flipcause?

Yes! You can easily list volunteer positions on your Campaign Editor. It's easy to get the volunteer information you need by creating a form with custom questions. Can I sell event tickets with Flipcause?

Yes! We know from experience that events are a fantastic way to raise money and awareness for your cause. You can sell unlimited, multi-tiered event tickets right through your fundraising page, as well as list free event tickets. Flipcause is a great place to list tickets to your fundraising events, as you don't need to refer donors to an external site. Our secure payment processor requires no additional accounts, so everything is streamlined into a centralized database. Can I sell merchandise through Flipcause?

Yes! With our built-in e-commerce Gift Shop, you can easily list merchandise and gifts right on your website. Great gifts include personal thank-yous and recognition for contributing, goods and services related to your organization, and coupons, gift certificates, or discounts on products or services related to your cause. You may not sell the following: pornography, firearms, illegal or prescription drugs, real estate, entry into a raffle or contest, or monetary returns on investment, such as shares of a company, profits, or loan repayment. Can I throw crowdfunding campaigns with Flipcause?

Yes! Short-term crowdfunding campaigns that focus on a particular goal and target mission are a great way to raise funds, especially when used in conjunction with other longer-term fundraising tools, such as recurring donations and events. Flipcause offers your organization the ability to throw unlimited reward-based crowdfunding campaigns, without the hefty fees charged by many crowdfunding websites. Plus, your crowdfunding campaigns will be seamlessly integrated into your existing website, so you don’t have to refer donors to another site and risk losing their donations. Does Flipcause offer tax-deductible receipts?

Donations to all registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are tax deductible by law. Flipcause sends a tax deductible receipt custom-branded to your organization to all supporters upon contributing. For tax deducltion receipts to be valid, the bank account set up for direct deposit must match your organizations name and EIN. Flipcause vets all organizations that sign up to ensure compliance with IRS nonprofit status.

Can I accept contributions from international supporters?

Yes! Flipcause’s secure payment processor can accept international payments without any additional charges. You will need a valid US bank account in order to withdraw funds.

How do I know my personal information is secure?

Flipcause takes data security very seriously. The first step we take to securing sensitive information is never storing credit card data in our database. All payments are processed through a Level 1 PCI compliant payment processor, the highest level in the payment industry. Flipcause also utilizes HTTPS protocol for SSL security, ensuring that all data transfer from your computer to our servers are encrypted. To learn more, check out our Security Page.

What supporter data can I collect?

Flipcause allows you to easily select what information you’d like to collect from your supporters. You can choose any or all of the following information to collect from your supporters: Name, Email Address, City, State, Zip Code and Phone Number, along with unlimited custom questions on all forms. It’s up to you - collect as much or as little information as you need!

Does my organization receive notifications when a supporter donates, volunteers, shops or purchases an event ticket?

By default, you receive an email notification any time a supporter sends a private message, volunteers, donates to your organization, makes a shopping contribution, purchases an event ticket, or joins your mailing list. It’s exciting to hear about all interactions with your campaign! However, if you wish to receive less emails, you can easily manage these notification preferences on your Flipcause dashboard under “Settings”.

Is there a screening process after someone registers as a volunteer?

Flipcause allows you the option to list and recruit volunteers for everyday operations and special event positions. We provide the ability to create forms and request necessary information through custom questions on your volunteer form, including file uploads and downloads.

Do Flipcause’s fundraising tools work on mobile devices?

Yes. Flipcause’s campaign websites and integrated fundraising widget are optimized for mobile sites. You can easily access any of the fundraising tools through your mobile device.

How does Flipcause handle chargebacks and refund requests?

Refunds are provided upon the request of the supporter and/or your organization. Typically, refunds are processed immediately and will be reflected on your organization’s dashboard. For chargebacks, a $25 non-refundable fee is charged for each dispute regardless of the outcome. Flipcause is transparent in the handling of any chargeback dispute with your organization and supporters. We will make every attempt to rectify the dispute as soon as possible.
